

The Municipality of Vicenza and the International Library “La Vigna” are committed to supporting the development of a healthy, sustainable and resilient urban food system, through actions that involve both the city and the entire surrounding area.
The European project “CITIES2030 – Co-creating resIlient and susTaInable food systEms towards FOOD2030” aims to innovate and optimize food production, distribution and disposal cycles at an urban level, with the aim of supporting cities to implement food management measures referred to in the Milan Pact and the sustainable development goals, as well as the 2030 Agenda.
The project intends on the one hand to create an observatory on the implementation of "urban food policy”, aimed at building indicators of socio-economic and environmental impact, on the other hand starting indicators“living lab” innovation laboratories open to the participation of all parties interested in the optimization of the urban food system, from the land to the plate, up to waste management and the development of new "circular economies".
